Edina Tímea Varga, MD, PhD, habil associate professor of neurology
I have graduated from the General Medical Faculty of the Szent-Gyorgyi Albert Medical University (today University of Szeged) in 2002.
In 2008, I passed my specialisation exam in neurology and then in Denmark in clinical neurophysiology in 2012, the latter was nationalised in Hungary.
I received PhD scientific qualification in 2009 at the University of Szeged in the framework of scientific work, based on domestic and German studies. I would like to highlight two of study trips abroad, 8 months spent at the Georg-August University in Germany and almost 3 years at the Danish Epilepsy Centre and Glostrup Hospital.

From 2002 to 2009 I have worked at the Department of Neurology at the University of Szeged, where I have participated in lecturing medical and physiotherapist students, as well as specialist candidates. I have worked part-time for seven years as an ambulance officer (paramedic) and ambulance doctor.
This was followed by three years in Denmark, and a year at the Institute of Genomic Medicine and Rare Disorders at Semmelweis University (2012-13).
I came back to the Clinic in Szeged in January 2014, where I am currently working as an Associate Professor.
I am interested in both nursing and nerve and muscle disease diagnostics (nerve conduction examination/electroneurographia-ENG, brain electrical activity testing/electroencephalography-EEG, muscle needle puncture tests/electromyographia-EMG), as well as treating muscular diseases and chronic migraine with botulinum toxin.
I use Hungarian, English and Danish in my work.
